Snow White 2.0: 211 years later, the Grimm tale is reinvented in cinema

On March 19, Snow White returns to the big screen in a live-action version. This long-awaited remake promises to revisit the classic tale with impressive special effects, a dream cast and a resolutely modern heroine. We tell you everything about what this new enchanted adventure has in store for us!

More than 211 years after the publication of the tale by the Brothers Grimm, Snow White returns to the big screen in a live-action version. The sweet and courageous Snow White will be played by Rachel Zegler, revelation from “West Side Story” and rising Hollywood star. Facing her, the Evil Queen, sublimated by Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), promises to make an impression. Unrecognizable in the scene where she becomes the old witch, Gadot once again proves the extent of her talent.

And the seven dwarves? In this version, they are entirely designed in computer-generated images. A bold choice which, given the first images, seems to offer stunning realism. Add to that forest animals screaming the truth, and the immersion promises to be total.

Snow White 2.0

Forget the passive heroine waiting for her prince charming. The new Snow White is a fighter, strong and independent. Disney is taking a feminist turn here by modernizing its main character, a choice which should appeal to spectators looking for more contemporary stories. Another intriguing detail: in this version, Snow White no longer takes her name from her pale complexion, but from an episode from her childhood, where she survived a snowstorm. A daring rereading of the Brothers Grimm tale which promises to be full of surprises.

Fans of musicals will be delighted: Rachel Zegler will sing the new songs from the film. If the original classics remain unforgettable, we can't wait to discover how the musical magic will be reinterpreted for this generation.
