“Very happy that things are moving”: Julie Vicente followed the results of Miss France

This Saturday, December 14, the famous Miss France 2025 beauty contest took place. Martinican Angélique Angarni-Filopon was crowned, succeeding Ève Gilles. “A good thing that a miss can be 34 years old,” rejoices Julie Vicente, elected Miss Lot-et-Garonne 2024 on April 7 and came fifth in the regional competition in October behind Laura Marque. Two years older than the winner, the Casteljalousaine was “very happy that things are moving, that it’s this woman”, despite the wave of criticism on social networks that occurred in the days following the election . She believes that we must “leave room for others. You can’t please everyone.”

Changes in the regulations

The competition has gradually relaxed its rules in recent years. Since the 2023 edition, the rule prohibiting women from being married, in a civil partnership, divorced, widowed and mothers has been removed, as has the age limit of 24 years among others. This development therefore allowed twelve candidates, including Angélique Angarni-Filopon, to enter this competition. According to Julie Vicente, it is necessary to “change ideas about this competition. We are no longer at the time when it was very standardized.”
