The Patrimoine en Couserans association continues its commitment to the restoration of local heritage by organizing a Christmas concert which promises to make an impression. For the first time in Saint-Girons, the virtuoso ensemble Voces Collium will perform at the central church of Saint-Girons this Sunday, December 22 at 8:30 p.m.
This ensemble brings together around twenty choristers, soloists and musicians, all driven by a common passion: to sublimate sacred music. Under the expert direction of Simon Siaud, experienced pianist and lyrical singer, this ensemble has established itself as a reference in the region. Accustomed to directing prestigious choirs and accompanying renowned artists, Simon Siaud promises an evening that meets expectations.
A young talent on the fence
With a varied repertoire, ranging from baroque works by Charpentier and Handel to contemporary compositions such as Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, Voces Collium has already won over many music lovers. In Saint-Girons, they will perform The Seven Last Words of Christ by Théodore Dubois, a poignant and intense work which transports you with its accents close to Gounod or Massenet. In addition to this oratorio, sacred Christmas songs will be performed by the soloists of the ensemble.
To close, Milo Brutus, a young prodigy organist from Ariège, will make the vaults of the church vibrate with Christmas compositions by Max Reger. Trained by Véra Zveguintseva, a well-known figure in Couserans, Milo Brutus has already performed at numerous concerts in the region, notably in Oust and Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges. In July 2023, he dazzled the public during “La Rencontre des Arts” in Saint-Lizier. This young talent once again promises to transport the audience.
Price: 13 euros. Tickets available at the Couserans-Pyrénées tourist office and on site on the day of the concert. Information: 06 17 39 14 14.
