This Thursday, December 19, 2024, it’s un other important pillar of TF1 newspaper who decided to leave to experience new adventures. Director Eric Felsona man in the shadows, behind the camera and yet essential to the smooth running of the broadcasts. The journalist and presenter of TF1 did not fail to send him a few words to pay tribute to him.

Marie-Sophie Lacarrau: “a big thank you”

At the end of her television news, largely devoted to the situation in Mayotte and the arrival of President Emmanuel Macron there, Marie-Sophie Lacarrau wanted to speak. Allow me to say a big thank you to Eric Freslon, our director. He is the one who is putting this newspaper into images from the control room at the moment. Eric Freslon who will be leaving us… 38 years spent at TF1. We kiss it, it’s for you” she said, blowing him a flying kiss from a distance through the camera. “We wish him lots of good times in Corsica, this island that he loves so much (…) Hello Eric!” added Marie-Sophie Lacarrau.

A few minutes later, another figure from TF1, this time on the weather side, decided to pay tribute to his colleague. Presenter Évelyne Dhéliat also had a thought for the director at the end of her bulletin. “I would like to give a big kiss to our director Eric Freslon who is heading towards new horizons and in particular, precisely, towards Corsica. We spent a lot of weather together, today was the last one together… Kisses” she declared in turn.

Significant health concerns

During his career on TF1 news, Marie-Sophie Lacarrau had serious health problems. At the beginning of 2022, she announced on social networks her absence due to an ophthalmological problem. Her Dante then kept her away from sets for several months.

When she returned in May 2022, Marie-Sophie Lacarrau explained that she had suffered of amoebic keratitis: a “infection of the cornea by amoebae, parasites found in tap water“, she was forced to stay in the dark for two months and had to gradually readjust to the light.
