As part of a sale of Masonic objects in mid-January 2025, the Aïbo Auction auction house is also selling a few watch lots.

To believe that any everyday object can in itself be Masonic… Whether they are ritual, symbolic or just clues intended for the attention of initiates, the auction of Masonic objects organized on January 11, 2024 at Aïbo Art Auction. Diplomas, seals, swords, aprons, mallets, decorations, porcelain, old documents… With Guilhem Sadde at the hammer and Didier Gottardini as expert, this sale will offer a total of more than 200 lots, ranging from €30 to €1,500, from these fraternal brotherhoods. if not secret, at least discreet.

In this abundance of objects of all kinds and from all geographical origins (England, Belgium, Canada, , Scotland, United States, etc.), there are a few watches and a clock for those in the know of the passing of time. Like a Swiss made pocket watch in gold metal with guilloché decoration, with a white enameled dial bearing 12 black symbols and the temple in the center, signed “Uno since 1795”. Also included in this sale are two pocket watches signed Elgin, an American company known in particular for having created numerous watches dedicated to Freemasons, just like Waltham. These two pieces in good general condition are both estimated at €600/900.

The most symbolic of the watch lots in this sale dedicated to Masonic objects and undoubtedly a small clock (14 x 15 cm) in an enamelled triangular shape, the dial of which displays a rich Masonic decoration: Jacob’s ladder, skull, triangle and eye omniscient… A rare piece in good condition estimated at €800/900.
