Released on November 27, his film which celebrates the love of music and the dialogue, even ephemeral, between two worlds which usually ignore each other, has already reached a million spectators.
Emmanuel Courcol speaks to us from Greenland. He is there scouting for his next film, with Sandrine Kiberlain and Benoît Magimel. He will tour in March 2025. In the meantime, he still can’t get over the success of En fanfare, released on November 27. The film has crossed the million admissions mark and could approach 2 million at the end of its career. « It covers many themes : adoption, illness, family, work, music, explains the director. He frees speech. I get a lot of feedback from spectators who sometimes confide in me very intimate things. »
Courcol still had warning signs of the enthusiasm to come. Selected at Cannes Première, his social comedy is shown to exhibitors at the AFCAE (French Association of Art House Cinemas) meetings ahead of the festival. The audience applauds at the end of the projection. The previews confirm this warm welcome. Word of mouth…
