The big day has finally arrived! While “Moana 2” is enjoying enormous success with nearly 5 million admissions in France at present, Disney is today releasing its new holiday blockbuster with “Mufasa: The Lion King”. And it’s an understatement to say that the French public has become passionate about the adventures of Simba and his friends Timon and Pumbaa. As the big-eared firm announces, “The Lion King” represents more than 10 million spectators between the animated version and the live action version, without forgetting more than 4 million videos sold in France, or even more than 3 millions of fans who have applauded the musical since its arrival in Mogador. Directed by Barry Jenkins, Oscar winner for the film “Moonlight”, “Mufasa” takes the form of a prequel, returning to the origins of the rivalry between Mufasa and his brother Scar, told by Rafiki to the young lioness Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala.

A voice well known to the public!
If it is Tahar Rahim who doubles adult Mufasa, we find Gwendal Marimoutou behind Taka who will become Scar, but also the tandem Jamel Debbouze and Alban Ivanov in the shoes of the troublemakers Timon and Pumbaa, without forgetting Rayane Bensetti, Anne Sila and Loïse Charpentier as Simba, Nala and Kiara. But those who will discover the adventures of Mufasa and Scar in this sequel will perhaps recognize the voice of a former flagship candidate of the “Star Academy” in the guise of Sarabi: Aurélie Konaté! She thus doubles the singing and speaking voice of a discreet character but that fans of the “Lion King” already know since Sarabi is none other than a lioness, and not just any lioness since it is the woman of Mufasa, and therefore of the queen of the Land of Lions. In “Mufasa: The Lion King”, we will discover his difficult youth and his meeting with the future king.
And it’s a real source of pride for Aurélie Konaté, revealed in season 2 of “Star Academy” alongside Nolwenn Leroy or Houcine, to bring this character to life. “ It’s the big day!!! Today, December 18, “Mufasa” the new Disney film is released and I have the immense chance to lend my speaking and singing voice to the majestic Sarabi » she wrote on Instagram, celebrating “ benevolence » teams during dubbing and “ the crazy atmosphere during the recording of the songs » : « I put my whole heart into it so I hope you like it. It’s in your hands now. The holidays are coming so no excuse not to go to the cinema “. In recent years, Aurélie Konaté has made a name for herself in the world of dubbing, television and theater, between her voices for “Mea Culpa” on Netflix, “The Little Mermaid” and the biopic “I Wanna Dance with Somebody”, his roles in “Camping Paradis” or “Plus belle la vie”, and even on the stage in “Intra Muros” by Alexis Michalik. She also shone in “Mask Singer” season 5 in the Doe costume.
