The “CUbo” show takes place in Nîmes this Saturday, December 21

The Italian company eVenti Verticali arrives in Nîmes with its high-flying show. « CUbo” revolves around a suspended three-dimensional stage on which dancers, lights and shadows blend into the structure. The colors change the appearance of the cube based on the performance of the performers moving in and out of it.

The structure, measuring 3m60 on a side, is made of aluminum beams. At first, it appears to be covered with a semi-transparent veil, which the dancers drop during the performance. Flames and smoke make a cube appear larger. Four white veils unfold, transforming the walls of the structure into a sort of painting revealing the colors and shapes created by the shadows. A team of performers moves in and out of the ever-changing structure, all in suspense towards the audience.

Vertical theater is born from vertical dance. The vertical spaces become floors on which the performers, supported by harnesses and suspended from ropes, dance, jump, run, perform… using the walls as orthogonal work surfaces.

Vertical theater is like a language that brings together different forms of art, from theater and circus, graphics, acrobatics, dance and music, to visual comedy and new technologies. All these disciplines reinvent themselves and adapt to unusual and impressive vertical places: towers, building facades, bell towers, walls, cliffs, trees and wide open spaces.
