Almost full room!
The Théâtre de Mâcon, Scène nationale welcomed Brandon Masele & Laura Defretin from Cie MazelFreten on Wednesday evening.
Mazelfreten is a duo composed of Brandon “Miel” Masele, dancer, choreographer, movement director and cultural ambassador of Congolese and Angolan origin, self-taught, world champion with Alliance Crew in 2012, and dancer of Christine and the Queens (world tour 2018-2019) and Laura “Nala” Defretin, dancer-choreographer and artistic director, internationally recognized French hip-hop artist, thanks in particular to his collaborations with artists like Black M or Angèle. Together, they took their first steps in the cinema in the film Let’s dance by Ladislas Chollat.
For their first group piece, Mazelfreten brought together 10 artists.
Inspired by the world of battles, the work of these 10 dancers is a cocktail of dynamism, spontaneous, committed and visceral. The choreographers reuse the codes and techniques of electro dance to develop original group writing.
Wrongly named “Tecktonik”, this dance and its movements, popularized in the 2000s, belong to urban dances.
The communicative energy of their proposal is as much linked to the stage presence of the dancers who seek to produce an effect of hypnosis and trance, as to the original music of NikiT, Ino & Fille de midnight.
A total immersion in an artistic universe that speaks to the body and the soul. Instincts and emotions involve all generations.
And the echoes of this party left nearly 800 people in a lasting mood as the show continued with a DJ evening with entertainment discovering electro dance by 2 dancers from the MazelFreten Company at the Cabaret space.
