In the coming months and years, Parisian and Ile-de-France public transport will continue their transformation and modernization in order to offer travelers even more comfort and possibilities. Initially planned for 2025, the commissioning of the line 15 Souththe first section of the new Grand Paris Express line, is finally postponed to the summer of 2026. But 2025, however, has several others in store novelties in terms of public transport in the Ile-de-France region. Arrival of the very first cable car in Île-de-France, commissioning of the Tzen 4 and deployment of the new generation metro on line 10 of the metro… discover these three new developments expected in 2025 in the public transport sector of Île-de-France.
Cable 1, the first cable car in Île-de-France
Expected in Val-de-Marne, the Cable 1 will connect the town of Villeneuve-Saint-Georges to that of Créteil. In total, five stations will welcome travelers from the Ile-de-France region by 2025.
To give you an idea, thanks to the first cable car in Île-de-France, it will be possible to connect the metro line 8 station, Pointe-du-Lac located in Créteil, to Villeneuve-Saint-Georges (i.e. a distance of 4.5 km) in just 18 minutes, all in the air. These 10-seat and 100% accessible cabins will fly over no less than four Ile-de-France municipalities, namely Créteil, Limeil-Brévannes, Valenton and Villeneuve-Saint-Georges.
Cable 1: the first cable car in Île-de-France expected by 2025
The first cable car in Île-de-France will soon see the light of day in Val-de-Marne. Named Cable 1, this cable car will unveil five stations located between the towns of Créteil and Villeneuve-Saint-Georges. While commissioning is announced for 2025, work continues. Mise en service du Tzen 4
The Tzen 4it’s what ? A bi-articulated bus 24 meters long and 100% electric. During 2025, it will replace line 402 over 14 km between “ La Treille » in Viry-Châtillon and the Corbeil-Essonnes RER station, considered the “ the busiest section of the greater suburbs “. Advertised as “ more comfortable », the Tzen 4 will accommodate 140 people, compared to 100 people in the current line 402 buses. The Tzen 4 also aims to be “ more efficient » et « more environmentally friendly ».
According to Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM), 47,000 travelers are expected every day on Tzen 4. 5 municipalities will be crossed (30 stations in total), with strategic districts served, such as the Grande Borne district and the ZAC City center in Grigny, the Plateau and Canal districts in Évry-Courcouronnes, the Sud Francilien Hospital Center and the Montagne des Glaises ZAC in Corbeil-Essonnes.
Deployment of the new generation metro on metro line 10
Finally, Île-de-France Mobilités announces the arrival in 2025 of MF19the famous new generation metro, on metro line 10. This new generation rail metro must provide more comfort for travelers (reversible air conditioning, comfortable seats, natural lighting ambiance, USB ports and screens for real-time passenger information, etc.) and offer different waiting areas (short and long journey, space reserved for people with reduced mobility).

The deployment of the MF19 will gradually continue on other metro lines, namely lines 3, 3bis, 7, 7bis, 8, 12 and 13, “ with 100% of metro lines equipped with new metros by 2033 » announces IDFM.
