When the elders meet for a “Batwel Kraké Kont” in Ink

“This show is the development of a project launched in 2020 with Valérie Whittington which was called Conte moi la vie and which continued until last year. »

On this same basis, it was proposed to the CCAS of Matoury, Rémire-Montjoly and Macouria to work in workshops for three months with their members then to make a restitution of these workshops by organizing « an event confrontation of the participants around the tale » The idea appealed to the town halls who followed and financed this show.

This was also possible thanks to the commitment of the various coaches: Valérie-Whittington de Rémire-Montjoly, Marie-Annie Félicité de Macouria, France-Lise François dit Maréchaux de Matoury with the support of musician Charles Clet who accompanied the storytellers. Because the volunteers who will respond to each other on stage are women, twenty-five in total.

These apprentice storytellers began meeting in September and followed 12 two-hour sessions, one per week. But as they got into the game, there were additional meetings between them.

The jury which will decide between these storytellers is also made up only of women, the men not having responded. These are experienced storytellers, Ernestine Bocage, Mauricienne Fortino, Odyle Armande Lapierre and Marie-Claire Newton.

The storytellers will speak in three timed tests. Each team must make an original presentation. For the second event, a member of the team recites their tale and for the third event, spectators will witness a reawakened tale.

Then comes the batwel itself where fifteen people will be given a character and an object and will have to write a common tale in 15 minutes which ends with a moral.

But explains Patrick Moreau : « I wanted to leave a lot of room for improvisation and spontaneity. »

Comedian Théo Régina will be the arbiter of this evening during which the public will enjoy the discovery of new talents.
