During the Miss France election, Miss Lorraine’s regional costume sparked numerous reactions on the networks. Its creator reveals that it was actually not worn correctly.
It’s one of the most talked about outfits of the evening. During the election of Miss France 2025, this Saturday, December 14, the regional costume of Miss Lorraine, Assia Roosz-Tomenti, sparked many reactions on social networks.
Some viewers compared this futuristic white and green combination to a superhero costume and saw references to the Avengers, Power Rangers or even Buzz Lightyear. But its creator, Wesley Forstinger, assures that this famous regional costume was in reality not worn correctly.
On Facebook, this costume designer based in Jarny, in Meurthe-et-Moselle, clarified that his outfit had been put on backwards during the ceremony. On Saturday evening, viewers saw the back of the suit on Miss Lorraine and not the front.
“I had the committee, the costume designer, a lot of people on the phone. The costume fits well, it was ‘JUST’ put on backwards…” he confided on Facebook, sharing photos outfit the right way.
A tribute to Metz Cathedral and Graoully
Because of this error, Miss France spectators were therefore unable to grasp all the regional cultural references of Lorraine present on Assia Roosz-Tomenti’s outfit.
Questioned by Lorraine Actu, Wesley Forstinger specified that his costume was a nod to the Metz cathedral and the Graoully, a mythical animal with a dragon-like appearance, which, according to legend, lived in the Metz amphitheater.
Wesley Forstinger notably sewed small dragons at the collar of Miss Lorraine’s jumpsuit, but unfortunately they were not shown on screen due to this mistake.
In 2023, Miss Lorraine’s costume, a dress in the shape of a table created by Maël Charton on which many regional dishes were arranged, also caused Internet users to react.
