Fannie, a first year student in a high school in Lunéville, will discover herself on screen this Thursday, December 19 in the show Prodiges on France 2. “I haven’t seen any images,” explains the young harpist, selected for this competition. in the company of 23 other young amateur artists, aged 6 to 16.
The one who started this instrument at the age of 7, at the Lunéville music school, is not a fan of this show: “My parents watched it. When they saw a harpist, they called me to see them. » Almost secretly in 2023, following a publication on social networks, she sent her application. “I hadn’t even talked to my harp teacher, Céline Manet,” explains Fannie. I wanted to test myself. I had no idea of my level: there are very few harpists. » Her late application is not a doom and gloom: production will contact her again this spring. In addition to the video where she filmed herself, a video will decide her participation in the recording.
Confidentiality
Did she make the final? Did she win this competition? Fannie is bound by secrecy regarding this program which includes two semi-finals and the final. Even if since the broadcast of the first trailers for the first show which will be broadcast on December 19, her friends, who “the vast majority had not seen the show”, have started to bombard her with questions. The Lunévilloise can only tell them about the recordings in the Paris region “where there are all the recording studios”, about the presence of stylists: “We are advised to bring gala clothes. We see with the stylists. If things don’t go well, they have a reserve. Even for interviews, everyday outfits are chosen by them,” of his impressions: “Working with the orchestra put a lot of pressure on me! We can’t imagine what it is: we realize when we also see the cameras…”. But also the atmosphere with the other candidates: “It was a vacation with friends: it was incredible. We all share the same passion, we get along really well. We stayed in touch by WhatsApp because we are scattered all over France. » Returning to daily life at high school was more difficult “It was coming back to reality. With everything we had been through, it was a bit depressing to start again,” she confides.
Influence on its future
This “experience”, as she calls it, will have a lasting impact on her life: “It opened my eyes to the fact that I could not do without this passion and it made me want to do other competitions . Including that of Epinal” As a junior in high school with a general baccalaureate in mind, she has no idea of the profession she will pursue later: “The harp remains an option in my head. Maybe musicology studies. Or firefighter? Or architect? Or in languages? There are so many different things that I want to do,” confides the student at the Lunéville music school, who also took lessons for four years in an establishment in Vandoeuvre-lès-Nancy. Since recording at the end of the summer, the high school student has even started to study the violin in Lunéville. Town where she lives with her parents, her brother and her sister. A family of musicians, amateurs, with the exception of the mother.
