Hip-hop icon Jay-Z is at the center of a rape accusation dating back to 2000, made by a woman who accused him of abuse at an MTV Video Music Awards after-party. However, her lawyer, Alex Spiro, has categorically rejected the allegations, calling them “completely false” and saying the details provided by the complainant are inconsistent.
In a private meeting in New York on Monday, Spiro showed evidence he believes is irrefutable. According to him, the version of events told by the victim, under the pseudonym Jane Doe, contains glaring errors and inconsistencies. The lawyer insisted: “These are fantasies. When something isn’t real, you get the details wrong. »
The charge is based on an amended complaint where the victim accuses Jay-Z of having raped her at the age of 13 after being taken to a location where it was impossible to access in such a short time. The lawyer also pointed out inconsistencies in the testimony of the complainant, who herself admitted errors in her story in an interview with NBC News, but maintained her accusations.
Tony Buzbee, Jane Doe’s lawyer, responded by rejecting the extortion accusations, ensuring that his client remained determined to put forward his version.
To this day, Jay-Z maintains his innocence and hopes that this case will be quickly dismissed by the courts.
