“Ready to replace Miss if necessary”

At only 18 years old, Sabah Aïb, Miss -Pas-de-, came close to the crown of Miss . It was ultimately the candidate from , Angélique, who won the title on Saturday evening in . Back in the North, the young woman of Moroccan origin looks back on this experience and talks about her projects.

Despite the disappointment of having come so close to victory, Sabah Aïb says she is “very proud” of her journey. “I didn’t think I’d get this far,” she confided during an interview with the newspaper The Voice of the North. “Obviously I was aiming for the crown, but Angélique really deserved it. »

If she recognizes that the competition was close, the young woman believes that general knowledge could have made the difference. “I was in the lead in the public votes, including in the French Overseas Territories,” she explains. “But the choice of the members of the jury was made on other criteria, I accept that. »

Sabah Aïb returned to the strong choice of having recalled her North African origins during the ceremony. “It was necessary for me to say it, even if it didn’t happen,” she says. “I didn’t want to hide it. It was close to my heart. » A choice that visibly paid off since the public acclaimed it.

Concerning the racist attacks of which she was the victim on social networks, the young woman wants to be philosophical. “There are always a few insults, but it has become marginal compared to all the kind comments I receive. »

Asked about the abandonment of the Miss competition in the Netherlands, Sabah Aïb expressed her regrets. “I find it a shame because Miss pageants are above all beauty contests,” she emphasizes. “They make a lot of people dream. »

After this Miss France adventure, Sabah Aïb intends to get back on track with her life. Return to , to studies and modeling. She will also participate in events in the region to promote the Miss 2025 elections.

Finally, Sabah Aïb said she was ready to replace Angélique at Miss World if the latter had to give up her title. “You never know,” she concludes.
