Saturday, December 14, the Municipal Social Action Center (CCAS) and the municipality of Pauillac organized a meal for seniors. “We are delighted to see you again after a long absence since Covid,” declared Mayor Florent Fatin in front of 180 guests.
After the short welcome speech, the elected official gave Pascale Rey, director of CCAS, a check for 6,000 euros. “Every year, as mayor, I receive entertainment and food expenses that I prefer to give back to the CCAS, this partly pays for today’s meals,” confided Florent Fatin, who adds that since 2020, these are 600 packages which were taken to the seniors’ homes, firstly because it was impossible to meet during the pandemic and also because work had been undertaken in the community hall.
Caterer Jean-Michel Crespaud from Saint-Estèphe visibly delighted the guests. As for the Thierry Coudret orchestra, which did not stop for a minute, it created a very friendly atmosphere.
The Ramos couple, long-time Pauillacais, 94 and 93 years old, were on the track. “We love dancing and every Sunday we go to tea dances,” said the couple just before starting a waltz again.
Hélène, singer of the orchestra, had the dynamism and the energy to make everyone dance, from waltz to tango to rock and even caterpillar. These reunions between elders were very appreciated by the guests like Nicole Hupé or François Isatsti, 97 years old, and his brother-in-law François, also 93 years old, who have lived in the town for a very long time. Jean-Claude and Danielle Isasti, the children, are coming there for the first time, as are Maryse and André Fragé, from Nantes who have become Pauillac residents five years ago to be closer to their daughter.
