The Wandering Tower is back for 5 years

While they have been crisscrossing Fribourg since 2012, particularly near the Tour Henri, at Bluefactory or at Miséricorde, the structure recently set up at the former Poya barracks for a period of 5 years.

In this replica of the Globe, the famous Shakespearean theatre, spectators will once again be able to enjoy circus and dance shows, plays and cabarets from the two floors of the circular hall.

While the programme remains similar to other years, the long-term installation of the structure opens up new perspectives for the organisers. “Until now, we had to constantly think about next season, find free places and request authorisations. This is different today and we can concentrate entirely on the content we want to offer”, explains Blaise Coursin, head of programming at the Tour Vagabonde.

The new location of the tower places it as a direct neighbor of the Poya asylum center. This arrangement will make meetings and integrations possible during the activities. Some projects are in progress.

The Poya area redesigned

With the opening of the Tour Vagabonde, a restructuring of the Poya area also begins. Over the next few years, the 45,000 square meter site will welcome other players, such as “La fabrique”, active in recycling, or the association “La Grande Mouette”.

For the opening of the Vagabond Tower, activities are planned this weekend. For more information
