The L’Oréal group sells the Decléor and Saint-Gervais Mont Blanc brands

The cosmetics giant is sorting through its brand portfolio. He has just announced that he has sold the beauty brands Decléor and Saint-Gervais Mont Blanc to the French family group Cospal.

Ten years after getting my hands on Decleor with Shiseido, L’Oréal finally announces that it will sell the aromatherapy-inspired skincare brand to the French family group Cospal. A transaction – the amount of which has not been revealed – which also includes the sale of Saint-Gervais Mont Blanccosmetic brand expert in thermal water.

L’Oréal reorganizes its brand portfolio

In 2023, the number 1 cosmetics group was already shedding Sanoflorean organic skincare brand, after having made it prosper for 17 years within its department dedicated to dermatological beauty. A cleaning of its portfolio which aims to optimize its efforts with its sure values ​​which are La Roche-Posay, Vichy or even CeraVe.

A strategy launched while L’Oréal’s dermatology division is experiencing some difficulties according to the latest figures published by the group. Indeed, in the third quarter of 2024, the department dedicated to facial care fell by -1.6% to 1.6 billion euroscompared to 10.8% in the second quarter. But don’t worry according to L’Oréal, which assures that these results have a contextual explanation: “unfavorable weather conditions have affected sales of solar products”, could we read in the press release.

Overall, the French group remains in very good financial shape. In the third quarter of 2024, it achieved a turnover of 10.284 billion euros.
