True to its promise, the Chabada troupe began its tour by presenting its new show, at home in front of the residents of the “Les Terrasses du Pastel” nursing home. It was a test, a last rehearsal to ensure and reassure ourselves that the musical “Our 60s” was going well. At 2 p.m., with the first notes played, the vocal ensemble composed of 16 singers accompanied by Jacques Eveno on guitar, and Christian Couderc on keyboard, under the direction of choir director Mireille Sourd launches the show. A voice-over recalls the good old days of the sixties, written by the troupe. It’s hand-made, and real-life for most of the actors, who were young women and men at that time. This musical comedy brings to life through its sketches and its musical repertoire the atmosphere of the 60s. It was the time of a free and joyful generation. In solos, duets and medleys, the songs follow one another, recalling the titles broadcast on the radio, on TV, by jukeboxes, and on vinyl records. The choir gives it its all, led by the nursing staff, the public does not remain indifferent to the well-known songs. He lets himself be carried away by yé-yé, pop, rock and roll music. The costumes in flashy and flowery colors and the “bell-bottom” pants remind us that it was also the hippie era. The participation of the public, delighted to share the songs, reassured the singers. The swaying hips, the dance steps, the twist take the audience back to the good old days of their happy youth. It was an exchange, a shared pleasure and the troupe really likes it! Everything came together for a nostalgic musical session, memories, memories!
