Based at the Ateliers des Capucins in Brest, La Comédie du Finistère celebrated its third birthday in October 2024. It highlights all facets of comedy: boulevard theater, absurd, romantic and even some one-man stage solos. -show. Nothing is left to improvisation. This rigor is based on the investment of Élodie Raboutot who wears multiple hats.
The general manager manages the reception of actors, ticketing, sound and lighting. “Trained on the job”, she orchestrates each stage of the shows, from technical rehearsals to the final performance. “When an actor says a specific line, I trigger the corresponding light or music,” she explains. I also test the microphones, sound and lights. » With a team reduced to two employees, including one on a work-study basis, La Comédie du Finistère manages to reconcile budget and quality programming. Communication is managed by Yoann Combronde, co-manager of the establishment.

A warm atmosphere and a unique place
At Les Capucins, La Comédie du Finistère seduces with its intimate atmosphere. “It’s a small room that immediately puts you at ease, you feel carried by the energy of the audience,” confides Clément Bonpoil, a Breton actor at heart who performed on Thursday December 12. This feeling is widely shared by the spectators, enchanted by the proximity with the artists. “We love coming here. It’s warm, in a small group, and we always discover new talents, like Clément Bonpoil this evening,” say Séverine, Ingrid and Valérie. “And even for children, the Christmas shows are a real success,” add the three friends.
A growing impact
With between 30,000 and 40,000 spectators annually, the hall is recording increasing attendance, confirming its anchoring in the Brest cultural landscape. “Before our arrival, there was no offer dedicated to boulevard theater or comedy shows in Brest. We have filled this gap and the feedback is very positive,” underlines Julien Sigalas, co-manager.
