Miss Lorraine: “My tall size is an asset, you only see me!”

The essentials: Can you tell us about yourself and your connection to Luxembourg?

Assia Roosz-Tomenti (Miss Lorraine): I am 25 years old and I am a real estate agent in Luxembourg. I support my clients in the search for properties or in the sale. I prefer to do sales, because the contact is more intense and the work is much more interesting. I regularly go to Luxembourg in this context. In France, I also have a home cleaning company. I juggle between these two jobs.

Did you already know the world of Misses?

No, it’s a total discovery. I was working at Cloche d’Or in a jewelry store and a woman came by and told me that she was taking photos for Miss Lorraine and that I had the profile to participate. It didn’t necessarily interest me at first, but after thinking about it, I said to myself that it could be a new goal to set for myself, because I really like challenges in my different jobs. I’m very curious, I wanted to discover this world and it worked for me!

How did you experience the Miss Lorraine election night?

Very good, I met incredible people. I was a little stressed, because it was the unknown, but once on stage, with the music starting, you forget everything and you tell yourself that that’s what we’re here for.

You now have to manage new constraints.

I was aware of all the new obligations that would result from this. I organized myself and as I am independent in my professions, I was able to find the appropriate solutions to devote myself fully to this adventure.

Are you putting pressure on yourself?

No, I think I will experience it as for the election of Miss Lorraine, to discover. Victory remains the objective, but I take it above all as a life experience. It’s still incredible!

What are your strengths that set you apart?

I would say my height, I am very tall, I measure 1.86 m. With heels, I reach almost 2 meters, that’s an asset. We only see me! (laughs). It’s always been that my whole life so this will be an opportunity to stand out. When you are young, it is complicated to live with, but for my part, it has become a strength. I got used to the looks and I play with it. It’s more complicated when it comes to clothing.

What causes are close to your heart?

It is above all self-acceptance, through what I have just said, and invisible mental pathologies, such as depression. I suffered from it some time ago and I want to show that we can get back up when we have support. I’m going to go on the set of Miss France even though a few months ago, it was unimaginable. It lasted two to three months, but I felt like I needed help. I have strength today that I wouldn’t have had without it.
