The Grand Contest for financial support grants distributes $1,000,500

On November 14, the Committee for awarding merit scholarships and 1is cycle awarded 475 scholarships for a total of $1,000,500 during the Student Life Services Financial Support Scholarship Competition, which takes place at the start of the fall term.

These scholarships, some of which can reach $20,000, aim to relieve the financial stress of students and to recognize their efforts to succeed in their training.

There were 2,110 candidates from all study cycles who participated in this competition, which brought together 58 scholarships linked to institutional funds, the Student Life Improvement Fund, faculties (planning, veterinary medicine, arts and sciences, continuing education, pharmacy and medicine) and to student associations (continuing education, educational sciences, medicine, architecture) as well as donations made by donors and foundations.

Financial support appreciated

The Student Life Services socio-economic resources team awards the scholarships just before the holiday break, a timely assistance.

Anabel Drolet, master’s student in psychoeducation and winner of a 2024-2025 Student Life Services scholarship, testifies to the support provided: «Despite my busy schedule, I continue to find great pleasure in my studies and I flourish there every day. This scholarship not only allows me to continue my studies while absorbing the cost of living as a mother, but also to feel valued.»

Student Life Services and the Alumni and Donor Network work together to ensure that the funds collected meet the real needs of the student population, but also that the wishes of donors are respected. The support of the philanthropic community demonstrates how much student success is important to us.
