“A few oddities, sequence shots that should never have been there, not always very well played but for once that Netflix strives to offer the biblical universe on its platform, we are not going to shy away from this pleasure”, comments Spiculus75004 who gives it an average rating of 4 out of 5. “Good thing that Netflix offers content that speaks to the Christian community, but it is overall a failure if we refer to the texts although the birth and childhood of the virgin is very little or not addressed at all, it is therefore a huge risk taken by the director […] », points out Esteban De jesus (2.5 out of 5).

“What a disappointment! What disappointments!, exclaims Christophe Laruelle (1 out of 5). What is good about this film? I was hoping for a minimum of reality based on a few facts or at least a tale taken from the legend of the Bible, if not carried out as a journey into the imagination. None of this, actors, direction, etc. There’s nothing to remember and I wonder why some hyper-competent and aging actors agreed to shoot this. » Xavier Van Dieren gives the worst rating (0.5 out of 5): “I was impatiently awaiting this film, but… Poorly acted, poorly dubbed, pompous, without any finesse… It looks like a very average film from the 70s…”
Marie is now available exclusively on Netflix.
