The Essaouira Photo Meetings from December 4 to 7 – Today Morocco

The second edition of the “Rendez-vous de la photo d’Essaouira” will be held from December 4 to 7, at the initiative of the French Institute of the Cité des Alizés.

This artistic event aims to create a real space for dialogue and exchange between professional photographers, amateurs and enthusiasts in the enchanting setting steeped in history of Essaouira, the organizers indicate in a press release.
Placed under the theme “Living”, this second edition offers a diverse program including five exhibitions, photographic walks with young Souiri photographers, conversations between the public and photographers, portfolio readings and workshops intended for applied arts students.
With “Waha”, the artist Seif Kousmate explores the complexity of the ecosystems of Moroccan oases, while Anne-Lise Broyer offers, with “Is this where we lived?”, a poetic journey where past and present are ‘intertwine through Mediterranean memories, specifies the same source. Joseph Marando highlights the richness of Moroccan daily life with “An Ordinary Morocco”, while Brahim Benkirane and Alexandre Chaplier invite us to rediscover forgotten roads in “Slow Down”. Reza celebrates, for her part, humanity and spirituality with “Become Heaven”, a vibrant hymn to life, adds the press release. The exhibitions will be held in several emblematic places in Essaouira, notably the Skala of the old medina, the socio-cultural space “Dar Souiri” and the Bastion Borj Bab Marrakech, concludes the same source.
