The AI Film Awards settled in Marrakech, after having appeared in Cannes, Venice and Dubai. This event, born from the vision of Houda Lazaar, a Franco-Moroccan passionate about the alliance between technology and cinema, marks a turning point in the way in which artificial intelligence is reinventing audiovisual production, we learn via a press release sent to our editorial team.
Organized in partnership with the École Supérieure des Arts Visuels (ESAV), the event takes place in parallel with the Marrakech International Film Festival, bringing together creators, directors, AI experts and young talents.
Under the sponsorship of Nabil Bouhajra, director of TV5MONDE Maghreb-Orient, the AI Film Awards 2024 offer an immersion in the future of cinema. Through conferences, screenings of films made with AI and discussions on current trends in the sector, the event offers a space for reflection on how AI is redefining cinematic storytelling. This meeting is much more than a simple celebration: it is a laboratory of ideas, a forum for debate, where enthusiasts of technology and artistic creation meet. The presentation of the Crystal Brain Trophies, which reward excellence in the use of artificial intelligence for cinematographic creation, will crown this innovative adventure.
But Marrakech will not be the last stop. The AI Film Awards embark on an ambitious tour, with stops planned in Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Niger, and cities including Jamaica, Jeddah, Los Angeles, and Singapore, strengthening ties between AI and the industry world cinema. This tour aims to create bridges between Africa and the rest of the world, while stimulating collaborations within the technological innovation ecosystem.
The event in Marrakech is only the first step in a series of initiatives intended to bring digital creativity to the forefront of the international scene. For Houda Lazaar, it is a successful bet: that of making Morocco a key player in the dialogue between cinema and advanced technologies, while creating a unique space for artistic innovation in Africa and beyond.
