Ludofiesta: the celebration of young and old – City of Sète

Article published on 02/12/2024

It is no longer surprising to note that Ludofiesta 2024 was a real success.

This fall edition, the 17th and still free, once again brought together hundreds of players, young and old, over an entire day last Saturday.

Time slots reserved for age categories have been arranged to better occupy the space in the Georges Brassens room and offer games and activities adapted to all levels. Agents from the City’s three toy libraries, the CCAS, and even external service providers were able to organize an exceptional day to suit everyone’s taste!

In addition to the year’s favorite board games and timeless classics, unique and fun activities were also present: motor skills courses and games around corks and recycled paper for toddlers aged 0 to 6, games of virtual reality and escape game for all players aged 6 and over, and adults’ evenings until 1 a.m.

In the presence of Colette Jamma, parenting assistant, and Jocelyne Gizardin, social action assistant, the visit to a snoezelen workshop space was a first. These sensory “bubbles” help calm toddlers and, above all, allow more fragile children to communicate and play better.

A snoezelen space will also be inaugurated soon at the Victor Hugo crèche. A real step forward for inclusion.

Another announcement: a Sète ludosport team has been created to participate in strategy game tournaments which will perhaps lead them to regional or even national championships! The goal is to invest, develop team spirit and respect for others. In the meantime, the team, made up of teenagers and adults, trains every Saturday in the game library.

The icing on the cake of this crazy day, the catering part brought lots of sweets and little pleasures throughout the party. Looking forward to the next edition!
