The world of culture hit by mourning, actor Bah Soon called back to God

The Ivorian actor and comedian Baha Blaise, nicknamed Bah Soon on screen, died on Wednesday November 27, 2024 in Abidjan, following a long illness. His departure marks the end of an exceptional career which largely contributed to the development of Ivorian cinema.

A graduate in theater arts, Baha Blaise began his career on the stage in the 60s and 70s. He then made a name for himself by joining the team of the satirical series “Comment ça va?” », directed by Léonard Groguet, where his charisma and talent won over many viewers.

During his career, he participated in numerous short and feature films alongside major figures of Ivorian cinema such as Kodjo Ebouclé, Naki Sy Savané, Thérèse Taba, Bienvenu Neba and Sijiri Vakaba. At the same time, he also worked as a teacher at the National Institute of Arts (INA), which later became INSAAC.

Ivorian cinema thus loses one of its pioneers. Baha Blaise’s artistic legacy, marked by his commitment and talent, will remain a source of inspiration for future generations of actors and directors. If Bah Soon on screen will no longer be with us, his work will remain engraved in the collective memory, testifying to his precious contribution to Ivorian culture.
