An investigation by “M le magazine du Monde” reveals, this Friday, November 29, the complaints filed by three men for acts which allegedly took place in the 1980s and, for one of them, against the cinematographer Jean-Claude Larrieu and Christian Caujolle, founder of the VU agency and former photo director of “Libération”.
Three men, now aged 64, 59 and 50, filed a complaint for rape, attempted rape and sexual assault on March 13 against the photographer Bernard Faucon, our colleague revealed this Friday, November 29. M the magazine of the World, Emmanuelle Lequeux. At the time of the events they denounce, in the 1980s, they were 16, 11 and 15 years old respectively. The Apt gendarmerie (Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur) opened an investigation and interviewed two of the victims, Ferjeux van der Stigghel and Jean-Philippe Cecile. The third, who has not yet been interviewed by the police and who requested anonymity, had already tried to raise awareness in 2006 and then 2008 – notably through comments posted on blogs and messages sent to associations of help for victims – on the sidelines of the photographer’s last major retrospective organized from December 2005 to March 2006 at the European House of Photography in Paris. He was then 41 years old and his case would not have been prescribed, as is the case today, for him as for the two other victims – French law authorizing, in cases of rape, to file a complaint until only thirty years after coming of age.
