Nine women accuse Gérard Darmon of behavior deemed inappropriate, sexist and sexual violence, during filming which took place between 2018 and last summer. All under the age of 30, these collaborators – assistants, interns, makeup artists, dressers or technicians – claim that the 76-year-old actor behaved extremely badly with them. None have filed a complaint to date, reveal our colleagues at Politis. Gérard Darmon, for his part, denies everything outright.
Some describe insults or a “need to touch women.” Others say they have suffered non-consensual physical contact, “humiliation” or propositions of a sexual nature. The actor's “omnipotence” is denounced by the alleged victims.
The youngest woman who testified was then 19 years old, when Gérard Darmon appeared “very honeyed, pressing his kisses to the corner of the mouth” and saying: “You are young, you are beautiful (…) We can do the “love, you can come to my house.” Faced with the intern's refusal, he then belittled her, calling her a “female dog” and a “slut”.
She then alerts production. But as nothing was done to protect her, the young woman left the shoot: “The production did not want to keep me safe and favored the actor and the continuation of the film,” she tells our colleagues. She filed a complaint against this production company for non-protection.
On this same shoot, a production assistant would have seen Gérard Darmon's hand slip between her thighs: “It's okay, you're not going to give me a MeToo!”, would have said the actor described by witnesses as being angry and gritty.
According to Politis, on at least four shoots, members of the production warned the nine young women testifying to our colleagues about Gérard Darmon's behavior. In particular, with regard to at least “wandering hands”. Ten other women also testified to our colleagues but ultimately did not want their comments to be published.
