Sadness for Johnny Hallyday fans. The only French store dedicated to the star, “Dans la Chaleur de Johnny”, will close its doors on December 21, 2024.
Since February 2022, this store, located in Épernay (Marne), has brought joy to customers, but also to Cédric Leclerc, its manager. The lack of attendance and increased competition from online sales forced him to close his business.
“People came to the store, but they didn’t come back,” sighs Cédric Leclerc, who took a while to announce the news to his most loyal customers. This shop, “it was the adventure of my life”, he declared, adding: “It was an extraordinary human adventure. I made people happy for three years. It made me feel good to make Johnny shine. Unfortunately, this adventure must come to an end”.
Cédric Leclerc has noticed a drastic drop in the number of customers. “I did everything I couldexplains the manager. I set up payment in installments for customers, I opened on Sunday and sacrificed my family, I opened a site for orders… But people prefer to buy online now”. He assures: “Johnny’s market value is declining. Many people are reselling their collection, the public has aged, fallen ill or died…”, he explains. In recent months, to meet expenses, Cédric has even had to sell part of his personal collection.
“What hurts me the most is seeing that people don’t come,” he emphasizes. For three years, he waited for a sign from Johnny’s family. “At one point I thought a family member would visit me. His son came 2 km away, but I was ignored,” Cedric observed.
It will be unfortunate, because there will be nothing left on him

Patrick, one of his most loyal customers, says he is“very disappointed”but he understands this decision. “It’s a shame, I’ve just retired, I was planning to spend more time in the store,” he declared. Cécile is from Brittany and once visited Cédric Leclerc’s boutique. “It must be heartbreaking for him,” says the fifty-year-old. She adds: “But what he did is admirable. It was unique in France”.
The rest, Cédric Leclerc, does not yet know it: “I’m going to stop on Johnny. My morale is at zero, I really need to see something else. I feel for Johnny to continue. It will be unfortunate, because there will be nothing more about him” , he concluded, saddened by the situation.
