Roman Reigns speaks about his future in WWE

As he approaches 40, Roman Reigns sees himself continuing to enter the WWE ring, especially for the unique connection with the crowd. For a little over two years, the OTC has now benefited from a lighter schedule, with only a few matches per year, to help it preserve its body.

Interviewed by Sports Illustrated, Roman Reigns spoke about his future by saying:

“It depends on what day you ask me and how I’m feeling that day. Sometimes I can imagine Sheamus hitting me with a chair somewhere in Europe. I’ve been through that with a lot of guys all over the world , year after year. Sometimes, no matter what you do, you wake up sore and your body hurts. Those days, I’ll tell you, “What’s going on? Maybe we could stop.” But there is still so much to do.

There is so much to learn about performance, not just about myself, but about performance in general. How to improve, how to control the crowd better. All these different things. There are so many stories to tell. New family members arrive. It’s a bit like athletes, as long as you can continue to train, as long as you feel well enough to train, then you can continue. As long as I feel well enough to continue training and get physically in shape to go out there and take falls.

If you can’t fall and take a beating, you have to go to Hollywood I guess. But there’s something about being there, in the middle of the storm, with that live reaction. Making movies is cool, but there’s something about having that crowd in the palm of your hand. You can’t emulate that or duplicate it. It’s WWE.”
