INTERVIEW – The singer and actor comes out Friendshis fortieth album, as well as his first autobiography.
Mr Eddy, as he has been called since “The Last Session”, the television show from the 1980s, has been part of our musical landscape for more than sixty years, with Les Chaussettes noirs then as a solo artist. An exceptional lyricist, rocker, crooner, actor and author, at 82 years old, he rarely opens up.
LE FIGARO. – Amigos, your new album, is the first without Pierre Papadiamandis, your official composer, who died in 2022. It was difficult without him ?
EDDY MITCHELL. – Yes, but I was well supported by people such as Alain Souchon, William Sheller, Pascal Obispo, Sanseverino and Alain Chamfort who responded immediately. I like their universe, what they write. So it was simple.
You have changed your working method ?
