With more than 6,000 spectators, a total of 7 prizes awarded, films speaking of courage and solidarity, the event forged strong links with the public and the participants of the new “Kids Film Forum”.
Among these moments, the Opening Ceremony with more than 500 people in the Capitole cinema in Lausanne. Where children and families discovered “Fox and Rabbit Save the Forest” in preview in the presence of its director Mascha Halberstad.
During the closing ceremony, 7 prizes were awarded to creation for young audiences. Winning films which address with sensitivity, humor and poetry, the question of intergenerational anchoring at the heart of our daily lives through dialogues. This year’s feature film “Jury Prize” went to “The Mountain” by Rachel House.
This prize was awarded by a committee made up of 3 young directors, Morgane Frund, Sarah Imsand and Mateo Ybarra. The Youth Jury honored the film “Waking Up in Vegas” by Michèle Flury. As winners of the Children’s Jury prize, Agnès Patron & Morgane Le Péchon with “Meteors”. The public prize rewarded “Filante” by Marion Jamault. Finally, the Emerging Prize was awarded to 3 young directors to encourage them to continue their artistic work.
At the end of the deliberations, the “Young Audience Cinema Festival” offered for each winning film, instead of a trophy, the opportunity to plant a tree in Lausanne.
Already, the appointment for the 11e edition is given from November 26 to 30, 2025.
