The Circa festival wins the Détonnant Event label and donates €1,000 to the League Against Cancer

One month after the closing of its 37th edition, the Circa festival was awarded the Événement Détonnant label. A high point for the circus event, which sold nearly 28,650 tickets and raised €1,000 for Pink October.

“It was one of our challenges.” Throughout its 37th edition, which took place from October 18 to 26, the Circa festival was evaluated by the Elemen’terre teams on its eco-responsible approach. Meal supply, fight against waste, accessibility, inclusiveness… The Auscitain event has mobilized to reduce its environmental impact and train its teams and visitors on ecological and societal transition issues.

An approach rewarded, a month later, by obtaining the Événement Détonnant label. “We obtained certification unanimously from the jury,” rejoices Stéphanie Bulteau, director of Circa. A diploma which recognizes the work carried out over several years by the organizers, with a view to a more eco-responsible festival.

But also more united. For the first year, the fall event has partnered with the League Against Cancer, as part of Pink October, the month dedicated to the prevention and screening of breast cancer. Thus, the proceeds from 100 of the 28,647 tickets sold during the festival were donated to La Ligue contre le cancer. A check for €1,000 was recently given to Nadia Benoît, president of the local League, and Huguette Dauga, volunteer. “Through you and your networks, we were able to raise awareness among many more people, especially young people,” thanks Nadia Benoît.
