Posing in a swimsuit to reduce your carbon footprint… You feel skeptical, but this is the meaning of one of the innovations of the current Miss France election campaign. The 30 regional misses, candidates for the title of Miss France 2025 awarded on Saturday December 14 on TF1, are currently on a preparation trip for the big gala, in Ivory Coast.
In addition to choreography rehearsals, team building activities and the famous general knowledge test (and its devious dictation), the misses also pose for a series of photo and video portraits, which will be broadcast in particular on TF1, thus helping the viewers to choose their favorite.
Reduce boxes
So we come to the question of the swimsuit photo. This year, the misses were invited to bring their own swimsuit. Moreover, if many activities take place for the misses with a compulsory outfit (a sort of uniform, but well cut), they were also able to choose some of their outfits.
The objective is twofold: to allow them to be comfortable in their outfits and to show a little of their personality through their clothing choice. But also to make the trip easier. By taking fewer outfits, which must be provided in many sizes, the Miss France company is responding to the wishes of its president, Frédéric Gilbert, who “for ecological reasons, asked to reduce the volume of the boxes that accompany the candidates », Explains Paris Match.
The personality in a scarf
The weekly also gave the floor to misses on this subject. Romane Agostinho, Miss Auvergne, is delighted to have been able to choose her outfits: “We know what suits us and what we like to wear, so it enhances us and gives us confidence.” As for Jade Fansonna, Miss Guyana, she approves of the balance between required outfits and personal clothing. Finally, Julie Dupont, Miss Île-de-France, welcomes an eco-friendly approach: “I am against fast fashion. 75% of my suitcase is second-hand goods, which allows me to show that we can dress well and respect the planet. »

Aurore Donguy, the candidates' stylist, is delighted not to have chosen the misses' swimsuits for the photo shoot: “The girls dress themselves, you enter their world, it's interesting to see their personality through their clothing. »
