He was hoping to put the ring on her finger, but it ultimately didn't happen! According to information from Closer magazine, available on newsstands this Friday, November 22, Céline Dion's son, René-Charles Angélil, has separated from his fiancée, Angélique Weckenmann.
It was the daughter of Ekaterina Weckenmann, financial director of the luxurious Wynn hotel-casino in Las Vegas, who allegedly ended their relationship. Angélique would not have supported René-Charles' new commitment to his motherof which he recently became full-time manager. The 23-year-old young man is said to be so devoted to Céline that he neglected his relationship with his fiancée, for example only granting her a quick one-on-one dinner during their visit to Paris last July for the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics.
“I’m finally free,” Angélique reportedly said after her breakup with René-Charles
Moreover, the son of René Angélil would have revealed a more authoritarian side since taking up the position alongside his mother. A facet that would not have really pleased his girlfriend…
Angélique would have left the house in mid-October in the ultra-secure VIP housing estate in the town of Mesquite, 120 km from Las Vegas, where she had settled with René-Charles a few months earlier. Back in Sin City, she would have expressed her relief to a close friend. “I am finally free”, she would have said.
René-Charles “upset by the breakup”
René-Charles would experience the breakup very differently. Still according to Closer, the young man would be
“upset” by separationhe who had planned to spend his entire life alongside Angélique.
But he doesn't forget his priorities. More devoted than ever to his mother, René-Charles was seen at her side on October 26, during Adèle's concert at the Colloseum at Ceasars Palace in Las Vegas. He also accompanied Céline to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 13 for the Elie Saab 45th anniversary fashion show. But although he showed a big smile, René-Charles didn't seem to be in the best shape. On the networks, Internet users found him tired, aged. The consequences, perhaps, of the end of a love affair on which he counted a lot…
