Bryan Johnson, the multimillionaire who doesn't want to age, disfigured after an operation gone wrong

Being 18 again. This is the dream, more or less accepted, of many people. Bryan Johnson, a multi-millionaire American entrepreneur, decided to invest his fortune in the hope of making this dream a reality.

Each year, he spends more than two million euros on cures, products and research to achieve his goal. For now, the man has obtained more than mixed results, as told to you 20 Minutes in a portrait of this curious character.

Many tests

However, Bryan Johnson and his teams are working a lot on this project called Blueprint. “My team and I evaluated all the scientific literature on longevity and aging, ranking the best-performing health therapies with the most compelling evidence,” he said. Beyond that, the businessman put his own body to work, testing the processes himself. His life is also extremely regulated, made up of a precise diet, sport and numerous medications, as detailed by RMC.

First, the entrepreneur tested calorie restriction, meaning eating less in the hope of appearing younger. But the treatment did not have the desired effect. “My biomarkers were improving, but I seemed off. People thought I was about to die,” he said. These results allowed him to discover that appearing young had something to do with having a face with enough fat, and not sunken.

A disfigured man

From there, Bryan Johnson started the “Baby Face Project”. To replenish his face with fat after his weight loss, he was injected with an extracellular matrix derived from donor fat. It was supposed to stimulate the development of fat. But, instead of giving his face a second youth, this treatment disfigured it. “Immediately after the injections, my face started to swell. And then it got worse, worse and worse, until I couldn't even see. It was a severe allergic reaction,” he shared in an Instagram post posted a week ago.

Fortunately, since then, his face has been able to reduce swelling and return to a normal shape. This misadventure should not, however, stop the man, who wishes to return each of his vital organs to the state of that of an 18-year-old man. After trying to inject blood plasma from his 17-year-old son, Bryan Johnson is reportedly working on another facial project, which now gives him the appearance of a boxer.
