Heavy snowfall in Normandy during the night from Wednesday to Thursday forced the organizers to cancel the premium meeting which was scheduled for this Thursday semi-night and to move it to this Saturday at 7 p.m.
“It is not the racecourse track which is forcing us to cancel this meeting but rather the state of the roads in Calvados, Orne and La Manche” explained the president of the racecourse Jean-Pierre Thomain to us. “We didn’t want to take the risk of putting trucks on the roads and being responsible for possible accidents. Given the state of the roads, there would probably have been many non-starters anyway. In addition, the horsebox yard of the racecourse was very slippery and it was not reasonable to move horses and men on this ground. The meeting being Premium, the Trot and PMU authorities will choose the date for postponing this meeting.”
The authorities have decided. The meeting will finally take place this Saturday from 7 p.m. The starters and numbering are unchanged for what will be meeting 8.
