The third mediation meeting around the Vieilles Charrues Festival, first announced for December 15, was finally brought forward to Tuesday, December 10, at 4 p.m., in the Châteaulin sub-prefecture, according to information from our colleagues in the West France. During the previous progress update, on October 15, the maintenance of the festival in Carhaix was confirmed and an agreement concluded, under which the Brittany Region and the Department of Finistère undertake to purchase land in the activity zone of Kergorvo 2 to keep them camping, and the buildings of the consular chambers located in Kerampuilh. For their part, the management of Vieilles Charrues has agreed to pay an annual contribution for the development of the site, with the aim of perpetuating the equipment (water networks, electricity, toilets).
Financial issues to discuss
The next meeting, set for December 10, should be used to “move forward on financial issues”, as the prefect, Alain Espinasse, suggested at the end of the October meeting. Friday, November 15, during the delivery of checks to the festival’s partner associations, in Kerampuilh, the festival management indicated that it remained vigilant until certain legal points were clarified, recalling that it was not until here only “oral commitments only”.
