How Bobby Lashley wanted to end his WWE career

Before leaving WWE to join AEW, Bobby Lashley had thought about how he wanted to end his career. The former WWE Champion planned to remain active in the ring for two more years before retiring.

He had imagined a betrayal of the Street Profits, which would have allowed him to work with Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins. He would also have liked to work with Austin Theory and LA Knight before concluding his career.

During the Lame Guys podcast, Bobby Lashley tells us:

“Could I have or wanted to stay in WWE? Absolutely. My plan was to do another year or two and then retire from WWE. I was working with the Street Profits. What I wanted for the end, it was that[Angelo] Dawkins and/or Montez [Ford] turned against me, and I wanted to have a rivalry with one, then the other. They are incredibly talented. I wanted to be beaten.

There were 3-4 people I wanted to face. I wanted everyone to have a good rivalry with me and I wanted to put them all over. It was Dawkins, Montez, Austin Theory and I never got a chance to do anything with LA Knight. He and I were good friends in TNA. […] I wanted to leave the right way. But it didn’t happen.”

This Saturday, November 23 at Full Gear, Bobby Lashley will face Swerve Strickland.
