The return of Intervilles is coming soon. The famous TF1 and public service show where two cities compete during unusual and physical events will be relaunched for four evenings in the summer of 2025, presented by Nagui and 63 years after its creation.

The presenter and producer also announced the disappearance of the cow test, due to animal conditions.

Bruno Bernard approached to welcome Intervilles in the Metropolis

And the broadcast could have gone through the metropolis of Lyon. According to our colleagues at Lyon Tribunethe president of the Métropole de Lyon Bruno Bernard was approached through an intermediary from the production of the show for a possible passage from Intervilles to a municipality in the metropolis. An idea which appealed to the elected environmentalist who was in favor of the idea.

But an important condition derailed the start of the project, although it had made little progress. And this is not the debate around cows. Hosting the show has a cost for local communities. Bruno Bernard was in favor of bringing the show to Lyon but on condition that it was free and that the costs were entirely borne by the production and Télévisions.

The Métropole de Lyon says no because of the price

As for the Olympic flame, Bruno Bernard considered the cost too high for the budget of the Metropolis, even more so in the context of savings imposed by the State on metropolises, municipalities, departments and regions with a view to the 2025 budget.

In the South-West, debate around cows

Several municipalities in the South-West also refused Intervilles new version but not for the same reasons. Nîmes, , Mont-de-Marsan and said no because of the disappearance of cows, a tradition still very popular in this sector of France attached to bullfights.

“Intervilles without cows, it’s not Intervilles,” declared Julien Dubois, Horizons mayor of Dax, atAFP. “The removal of the cows implies that they would suffer during play, but this is absolutely false, they are not harmed.”

Nagui accepted this disappearance and promised the return of the cow as the show’s mascot but in… foam “with someone inside”.
