A mouflon came to the Christmas market

Oh oh oh! The Christmas market opens its doors this Thursday, November 21, from 10:30 a.m. Several thousand visitors are expected for this event, which allows you to interact with exhibitors and find something to fill your bag with Christmas gifts. artisanal products. This year, the Nantes market is celebrating its 25th anniversary. For the occasion, an inauguration show, in the presence of Mayor Johanna Rolland, will open the festivities on Friday, November 22 around 6 p.m., with a stroll of luminous characters, not to be missed.

Places du Commerce and Royale are adorned with their most beautiful decorations to amaze passers-by. For the occasion, a 3.5 meter high mouflon is invited to Place Royale, majestically enthroned in the perspective of Rue Crébillon. It is one of 800 multicolored works by the artist Vincent Olinet, taken from his luminous itinerary and scattered throughout the streets of Nantes for the Winter Journey.

For this new edition, the emblematic exhibitors of the Nantes Christmas market are back. Among them, we find unmissable items such as the mulled wine from Chez Karl or the gingerbread from Fortwenger. Winter accessories and wooden toys are also among the flagship stands. Among other celebrations, you can also taste Quebec poutine on site.

Activities for all children, young and old

To delight young and old, the Christmas market offers fun and free activities, starting with the long-awaited arrival of Santa Claus. The latter will welcome children to his illuminated house on Place Royale (Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.). And its mailbox, located at Place du Bouffay, has been available to children since November 13 and until December 24. (It is said that it is his wife, Mother Christmas, who collects the mail every day, before getting back on her swing, Esplanade Feydeau.)

On Wednesdays and Saturdays, workshops will also be offered to young people to have their makeup done or develop their creativity. And this year again, the Fnac stand will allow you to have your gifts wrapped by volunteers and for a good cause. A must-stop for those who want to combine generosity and Christmas spirit.

A truly magical market

Like every year, the organizers took care to make the market accessible. Places Royale and Place du Commerce thus benefit from facilities designed to facilitate strolling, with chalets, made in which were designed and manufactured by the organizers themselves. They are therefore equipped with shelves at the right height for people in wheelchairs and equipped with PRM ramps.

Finally, to get to the site easily, several transport solutions, in addition to Retail car parks, are possible. By tram, lines 1, 2 and 3 drop off walkers two minutes from the event. By bike, the city has increased the number of bike racks, to make it safer and easier for everyone to come.
