An overseas air. In Vannes, several associations bring overseas cultures to life. On the occasion of the Overseas Evening organized by the Union of Overseas Territories, which will be held on Saturday November 23, 2024, Ouest-France is putting them in the spotlight. For twenty-one years, the Mahoraise Vannes-Ylang Association has been reaching out to Mayotte nationals newly arrived in Vannes, and more widely in Morbihan. She organizes their welcome and maintains the link.

The Mahoraise Vannes-Ylang Association — that is its full name, even if there is a tendency to say Vannes-Ylang — was declared on June 3, 2003. It is one of the member associations of the Union of Dom-Tom 56, based at the Kercado neighborhood center. As a result, it also hosts there, and its forty members and supporters meet there every Sunday, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., under the leadership of their president, Ben Saindou.
