It is not a concert in the strict sense of the term, nor is it a group in the sense that we usually understand it: Lullabies falls outside of norms, time, career strategies. Lullabies is an artistic act to say we are fed up with our chaotic world, but also a reunion to celebrate light and hope. Created on the initiative of singer Laure Betris 3 years ago, this project brings together eight artists with different life and music backgrounds, all friends. In an arc on the stage of the Théâtre de Vidy: Aurélie Emery, Sara Oswald, Delia Meshlir, Gaël Kyriakidis, Perrine Berger, elie zoé, Melissa Kassab and Laure Betris.
Around each of their seats: pocket keyboards, pedals, guitars, flute, cello, bass, percussion, metallophones, saxophone. In the center, a snare drum reminds us that rhythm is the basis of everything and allows for minimal scenography. Because it is indeed an essential step that these eight have embarked on. Composing lullabies to give ourselves and ourselves tenderness in the face of the horror of our globalized world, as one of them says in the preamble, citing “Gaza, Palestine, Lebanon”, but also “all the other ongoing wars.
