Halsey has seemingly confirmed that she is engaged to Avan Jogia.
The 29-year-old singer corrected a post on X by Pop Base that referred to the actor as her “boyfriend” by stating that he was her “fiancé.”
She wrote: “Fiancé Avan Jogia”.
The star – who has three-year-old son Ender with ex-partner Alev Aydin – admitted she could see herself marrying Avan and described him as her “best friend”.
Speaking to E! News at the MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday, when asked if she would consider marrying him, she said, “I hope so. Avan is the best. He’s one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. And every day I spend with him is a day I feel like I’m with my best friend.”
The singer, who has been dating the actor for about a year, also admitted that her partner and her little boy are inseparable.
Halsey has clarified her relationship status after revealing how “terrified” she was when she became seriously ill shortly after becoming a mother.
Halsey battled a number of illnesses shortly after giving birth, including lupus, T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder, POTS, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and Sjogren’s syndrome, but she channeled her healing into the writing process for her new album “The Great Impersonator.”
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “I was in this in-between situation, waiting for answers from doctors for months and thinking that not only was I no longer able to be a musician, but I was no longer able to live in peace. I turned to writing because I knew it was the only thing that could help me.”
