The Beuzeville media library (Eure) renews its participation in the Documentary Film Month, to offer the public an evening always rich in emotions, in the company of cinema professionals.
This year, the film chosen by the team is Girl Culture by Mélanie Brun. This screening-meeting will take place this Friday November 22, 2024 at 8 p.m. at La Cidrerie. Co-author Delphine Dhilly will be present, to then discuss with the spectators.
“The year of first times”
Here is the synopsis: “They are 13 years old. They are entering 4th grade, and will go through a year full of “firsts”: boys, hormones, the changing body. Who are these young college girls? What do they do, what do they talk about, what do they dream about?
Girl culture is the chronicle of these teenage girls and their daily lives over a school year. How are young girls inseparable from a fetish object, the smartphone coupled with social networks ? What are their questions, specific to their generation and what are those, universal, that persist through the ages? »
Delphine Dhilly has been in film creation for 20 years, directing film and sound documentaries. She worked for LFeet on the ground of France culture and made films for Arte, France 2 et France 5.
She forges a link and questions gender relations, questions notions of choice and the body, particularly of women. She has directed, among other things, the films Sex without consent or even School nurse.
Spend an evening with the teenagers
The choice of the media library team fell on this film, which goes into the intimacy of these teenage girls, so that it opens the view and dialogue between generations, but also between parents and their children. An evening to share with your teenagers to better understand each other!
68-minute French film, Kidam productions, accessible from 13 years old. Free. Info and reservation on 02 32 42 51 39.
