Tuesday November 19 in Koh-Lanta: the cursed tribe, Ugo was eliminated at the gates of the orientation test. For Télé Star, he returns to this premature departure.
Télé Star: How did you feel when you were eliminated?
Ugo : During the counseling, I know it’s going to be complicated for me but I’m not giving up. Anything can happen during counseling! But hey, when I understand that it’s over, it’s hard because I tell myself that it’s the end of a battle. The goal is to go as far as possible, and I never give up until my torch is extinguished. There, I realize that I won’t make it to the end.
Did you think that Ilyesse would be able to convince the ex-yellows not to vote against you?
When Ilyesse tells me that he is going to try to convince the yellows not to eliminate me, I know that he has his work cut out for him. I hoped he would succeed in doing it with Thibault, but it didn’t work. That’s how it is, I don’t blame anyone. I can understand their strategy, they stayed strong and as a group until the end.
In place of the ex-yellows, would you have also eliminated the strongest?
I don’t know ! I find Ilyesse’s approach very healthy – and very nice for me too (laughs) – but I can understand theirs. Besides, it was their first Koh Lanta, unlike me, and at this stage of the game, you really have to think about yourself. In their place, I don’t know what I would have done.
Does this defeat at the gates of the final leave you with a feeling of unfinished business?
A little bit, obviously. Afterwards, when I turn around and look at the course, I tell myself that everything went well. I went back to experience new things and that was the case. I was team captain, I made the fire, I experienced some great new things on this adventure. It was as beautiful as the previous two. So hey, I have no regrets, even if I would have loved to climb the last step of the stairs!
Ugo (Koh-Lanta): “I don’t regret having used one of my necklaces for Cassandre”
How did you feel when the orienteering and pole events were played without you?
It made me feel weird! I didn’t know the candidates’ house, so I had never experienced the moment when we say to each other “They’re doing this, they’re doing that.”. But hey, the end belongs to the last five! It’s weird, but I left without regrets. I played all my cards, I did everything to go as far as possible.
You could have reached the final if you hadn’t given your necklace to Cassandra. Do you regret doing it?
No ! I’m very happy that this necklace was used to save Cassandra. In this Koh Lantamy goal was to move forward as a team. I really experienced it as a collective adventure and I’m happy to have managed to hold on to my boat until the end, even if it cost me a lot! Cassandre deserved her place at that time and it’s very good that she stayed.
You who are an informed adventurer, who according to you is the revelation of this Koh-Lanta : the cursed tribe ?
There are plenty of them! I have seen people do extraordinary things. Maxime was very strong in surviving on the red island, Charlotte won a lot of events, Ilyesse came back a long way… There is also Thibault. He is one of the people who, on survival, really impressed me over my 3 seasons combined.
Who was your favorite adventurer this year?
I got along very well with Alexandre, who unfortunately decided to leave the adventure. It’s a very different profile from mine, but he’s someone who has a lot of humor and that’s something I love about him. Koh Lanta. In tough times, it’s great to be with someone who makes you laugh. With Alexandre, we laughed a lot and he’s someone I’m happy to see again in life.
Who do you want to see go to the posts?
It’s hard to choose! If I had 1€, I would put 20 cents on each head (laughs). I think it’s going to be very hard to vote when the time comes.
