A country atmosphere and “Madame de Pompadour” at Fleurs Bleues in Quimperlé

Tuesday, November 19, a new florist opened in lower town in Quimperlé in place of the old ready-to-wear store Chez Anny. Bruno Mandroyan is the manager of the premises. “I am the fourth generation of trader. I still have a supermarket in Alsace,” says the latter. The Alsatian fell “in love” with Quimperlé during a vacation and decided to move there three years ago. “I used to buy flowers in the lower city but she moved to the upper city. So, I wanted to create a store with an innovative concept around flowers,” he adds.

A new atmosphere

Inside, everything has been redone to create a completely new atmosphere. There we find furniture found at local second-hand dealers and a touch of blue colors. “It’s a reference to the blue path of Quimperlé but also to the romanticism and song of Charles Trenet,” smiles the boss who wanted to mix two worlds. There is the “country” side with flowers, plants and then the world of Madame de Pompadour. “There are creations made with toile de Jouy, furniture too. They are also roses and orchids,” describes the trader.

Exhibitions

In the store, it will be possible to purchase decoration. “Especially Christmas. It’s my Alsatian side,” he laughs. He has formed a partnership with the wine merchant Madame Irmat who will sell a selection of “wines of the month”. “We also offer, in addition to the classics for events and mourning, bouquets of vegetables and fruits,” adds Bruno Mandroyan. Starting in January, works by local artists will be hosted for two-month exhibitions. “We will have openings on each first Friday of the exhibition,” he plans.
