The Manouch’ festival play overtime! After having made flamenco, Catalan rumba, gypsy jazz and gypsy melodies resonate in the streets of the town center of Mazères, this summer, the association Les Amis du swing – organizer of the event – intends to make the pleasure last by offering an autumn version of its flagship event. And this, in a completely revisited formula.

It is not on an open-air stage, but on the stages of the Fébus room that the groups invited to this “next shot” will (re)discover their repertoire to the public, Saturday November 23, 2024. A “After the Manouch’Muzik festival” that the organizing team thought of as a real dinner concert.

Tapas on the plate and eclectic program on the stage

It is therefore “comfortably seated around large tables, where friendly exchanges are facilitated, or more intimately seated around standing tables” that the public will be able to enjoy a “eclectic programmingwell in the spirit of the traditional themes dear to the organizers » all while tasting tapas concocted by “the top chefs” Friends of Swing.

On the menu: a formula of five tapas (patatas bravas, pan con tomato and ham, “Arizona” style pork spider, rabas and cheese) to be enjoyed by the portion (€5) or on a platter (€20). A refreshment bar will also be held on site to quench even the greatest thirsts.

Between klezmer music and Mediterranean sounds

Stage side, the collective Les Klez will try to best convey the emotions associated with klezmer music – the instrumental musical tradition of Ashkenazi Jews – during the first part of the evening. “A rich, festive and captivating party music with Slavic, Gypsy, Greek and Oriental inspirations mixed with jazzy sounds which have now earned it recognition and appreciation throughout the world,” comment Les Amis du Swing.

Training left-handed fish will take over and will be responsible for “making the room swing with its very particular rhythms guided by the charm and voice of Nadia”. “Well known on the Mazerian scene under the name of the Swing Vandals, the group has kept energy and good mood while transforming his music into a fusion of Mediterranean sounds »still presents the association. On the program: jazzy accents, groovy rhythms and mixed influences.
