How to escape procrastination, the art of putting off until tomorrow, and not making Christmas presents at the last minute? Head to the Artisanalement Vôtre show. The 3e edition opens this Friday at the Logis de Plaisance, in Barbezieux (1). The opportunity to buy local, for all tastes and all budgets (from 10 euros), without having to go to the stores. But above all to discover artistic professions “some of which are in danger of disappearing”, notes Bénédicte Clergeau. The former lawyer knows what she is talking about. She inaugurated her alajour maker workshop “Les Gammes d’Olbreuse” two years ago. There are a handful in France like her who create tailor-made lighting.
She co-organizes the show with Leslie Gaillard, painting restorer in Cierzac (17). The two exhibit at the Artisanalement Vôtre boutique, located on rue Saint-Mathias in Barbezieux for five years, which in 2022 gave its name to the show born more than forty years ago. With the same leitmotif: quality, originality and novelty. This edition will bring together around thirty professional exhibitors in the arts and crafts. Of which almost half are new “after a rigorous call for applications both on know-how and on interpersonal skills to promote a good atmosphere”, supports Leslie Gaillard. Fifteen professions will be represented. Several ceramists, cabinetmakers, jewelry designers and leatherworkers will work alongside an upholsterer, a cutler, a basket maker, a milliner, a stained glass maker, etc. (2).
Six will move their workshop for on-site demonstrations “especially on Fridays because we are expecting a visit from schools and an Esat,” says Bénédicte Clergeau. The organizers are aiming for a thousand visitors in three days after a slight drop in attendance last year. No impact on purchase orders. “We have had a lot of work and in general, crafts have not suffered too much from the economic context. »
